9. How to communicate with Your Guests

Timely responses Every time a guest reaches out—whether you have a reservation with them or not—responding quickly shows that you’re an attentive and considerate host.

How frequently and quickly you respond to reservation requests and booking enquiries is measured by:

  • How you respond to booking enquiries and reservation requests within 24 hours to maintain your response rate
  • If your listing isn’t available or a traveller can’t comply with the House Rules you set, be sure to decline the reservation request promptly

Confirm or reject a booking request

Follow this guide if you receive a new booking request which you would like to accept.

  1. Go to Menu and select Reservations.

  2. Enter the booking request which is marked in green with the Booking Status Open.

  3. In the blue notification select Reject or AcceptNote: If you have closed the blue notification without rejecting or accepting the request you can click onto Pending by owner and select an action from the drop-down-menu:
    • Agree after Payment

    • Agree without Payment

    • Reject

  4. A new window will open up to send a message to the guest.

Note: If your Payment Settings are set to collect a Reservation Deposit upon booking confirmation the message to the guest will automatically request the reservation deposit payment. If not, request the payment manually.


Confirm or reject a booking inquiry

If your bookability settings are set to only accept inquiries, follow these steps to accept or reject them.

  1. Go to Menu and select Reservations.

  2. Enter the booking inquiry which is marked in green with the booking status OpenClick to expand

  3. Click onto Open and select the action you want to take from the drop-down-menuClick to expand

  4. A new window will open up to send a message to the guest.

Note: You can freely edit the booking at any point and send manual payment requests.
